Solitication Letter 2017 Home Based Business

Dear Parents:

The Island Park PTA End of the Year Dinner is quickly approaching!

As many of you know and for those new to this event, we raffle off beautiful baskets! We solicit businesses near and far and try to have a theme for each basket. We are reaching out to parents, family members and friends with home-based businesses to please make a donation to our cause. All business names will be show cased in our program and added to our donation list. This is our biggest fundraiser and the proceeds help pay for assemblies, summer reading books, refreshments at all events and ceremonies, field day events, student of the month, and much more. Any type of donation in the form of a product or gift certificate is greatly appreciated.

The dinner is Thursday, May 18th at Bridgeview Yacht Club, so please SAVE THE DATE! An invitation will be sent home with all the details.

If you have any questions, please contact Domenica DeBellis (516) 852-5890 or Toni Egan (516) 852-2136 or Robyn Shapiro (516) 369-0473. You can also email the PTA at islandparkpta11558@gmail.com.

Thank you for your continued support and “Together We Are Better”!

Kindest regards,

The End of Year Dinner Committee

PTA Message to Parents

Dear Parents:

We want to welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year and invite you to join the Island Park Parent Teacher Association (PTA). In years past, we have had 100% participation from parents, faculty and staff of the Island Park School District and hope to accomplish the same this school year.

What does the PTA actually do? The PTA provides many exciting educational and cultural arts programs/assemblies for our children such as, the National Circus Project, Earth Day events, Philharmonic performance, Author visits and much more. The PTA also helps our school district by sponsoring many functions throughout the school year such as, Student of the Month, Summer Reading Program, PARP (Parents As Reading Partners) and refreshments at various ceremonies. Your involvement in the PTA is up to you. You can do as much as chairing or assisting a committee, helping out at functions or as little as just being a member and attending informative meetings.

Show your child education is important by becoming a member of the Island Park PTA. Please consider volunteering some of your time and ideas. Our PTA meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. at Francis X. Hegarty Elementary School (FXH) or at Lincoln Orens Middle School (LOMS) on dates listed in the school calendar and on the District website. Invest in your child's future by promoting quality education and a true partnership between home and school.

The cost for membership is $10.00 per member. We welcome grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, community members and merchants to join as well. Any additional contribution is greatly appreciated.

To become a member, please complete the attached envelope and return it with your membership fee to your child’s teacher or to one of our schools.

If you have any questions regarding membership, please contact our membership co-chairs, Adrianne Cardiello at (516) 459-9093 or Christine Glynn (516) 352-7504.

If you have any questions regarding the PTA or any of its committees and/or events, please call our PTA Co-Presidents, Jean Leo at (516) 655-6582 or TinaMarie Ruzicka at (516) 924-5739.

Thank you for supporting the Island Park PTA!

Sincerely,
PTA Executive Board
